HerbMed had the pleasure of sponsoring an insightful lecture presented by Dr. Hussein Makki, pediatric specialist, titled "From Birth Canal to Gut Health". The session highlighted the critical impact of delivery mode—vaginal vs. cesarean—on the establishment of the neonatal gut microbiome and its influence on immunity, digestion, and long-term health outcomes.
The lecture was attended by pediatricians, general physicians, and nurses, and shed light on the importance of early microbiome modulation in cesarean-born infants. Special focus was given to Fermental, a probiotic supplement formulated with beneficial strains supporting gut health, digestion, and immunity from early life.
The event emphasized the role of probiotics in restoring the balance of intestinal flora in C-section newborns, reducing the risk of colic, constipation, and atopic conditions
